“It was announced that the friends of Gary were marching up Spenard Road.  He was having a birthday.  They were waving and singing, putting all their focus on the birthday boy, or man as it were, that was also along for the ride.  There were no rules on who could march up the street.  Did you have a birthday, just liked waving, had an open spot in your schedule and too much candy at home? Anyone could join in.”
